One of Colin Kaepernick's teammates wasn't happy that the 49ers quarterback was photographed recently wearing a Miami Dolphins hat.
"This is a huge mistake by Kaep," 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman said, during an interview on NFL Network. "I'm sure he understands that now. In his defense, we're young. In our era these days, we like to match our snapbacks with our outfits."
The 49ers' third-year quarterback was pictured wearing the Dolphins hat at a party a few weeks ago. After initially dismissing the controversy as silly, Kaepernick later posted pictures of himself

Still, Bowman is hopeful his teammate will be more careful the next time he feels the need to accessorize.
"The hats now these days are very important to the outfit, so Kaep I understand what you did, but let's stay away from the NFL teams," Bowman said. "Stick to NBA, go to college or the baseball hats."
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith, who helped hand the 49ers a Super Bowl loss in February, agreed with Bowman about sporting an opponent's hat.
"That's the rule for the most part, to stay out of conversations like this," Smith said. "You stick to baseball or hockey or whatever."
Or, perhaps Kaepernick is better off being photographed with nothing on?
Meanwhile, Bowman also couldn't believe that Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton says he remains an Atlanta Falcons fan.
"There's no excuse for that one, man," Bowman said. "A fan? These players are trying to take your head off, and you're a fan? Nah, you can't do that."
