Aldon Smith's arrest for DUI and marijuana possession Friday morning hasn't swayed the 49ers' plan to play him Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.

"I expect Aldon to be back to work and playing Sunday," coach Jim Harbaugh said.

Harbaugh said any forthcoming discipline is "pretty exclusive to the league" and is expecting "the process" to play out before any potential suspension is imposed on Smith, the 49ers' sack leader since his 2011 rookie season.

"There will be consequences," Harbaugh added.

Asked for comment, Smith replied "not right now" as he headed to the weight room for a post-practice workout.

Less than 4 hours after San Jose police arrested him and he posted subsequent bail, Smith participated in the 90-minute practice, albeit in limited fashion because of a back injury that's hindered him all week.

"Seemed like he had his wits about him," Harbaugh said of how Smith practiced.
