NEW ORLEANS -- A week after sustaining concussions, 49ers tight end Vernon Davis and safety Eric Reid will suit up and are slated to start Sunday's game against the Saints.

Defensive tackle Ray McDonald won't play because of an ankle injury. Demarcus Dobbs will start in his place on the left side of the line.

Cornerback Eric Wright (No. 30) and tight end Derek Carrier (No. 46) are active for their season debuts, Wright likely as the dime cornerback and Carrier as a third-string backup.

Also out are tight end Garrett Celek (hamstring), quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson, wide receiver Quinton Patton, guard Joe Looney, linebacker Nick Moody and defensive tackle Tank Carradine.

New Orleans will be without rookie safety Kenny Vaccaro (concussion) and he'll be replaced in the lineup by Rafael Bush.

Also out for the Saints are tight end Ben Watson (concussion), quarterback Ryan Griffin, running back Khiry Robinson, cornerback Rod Sweeting, tackle Terron Armstead and defenesive end Tyrunn Walker.
