TAMPA, Fla. — Cornerback Tarell Brown suited up for the 49ers on Sunday for the first time since sustaining a serious rib injury Nov. 17.
Some four hours before the 49ers' game against the host Buccaneers, Brown alerted his Instagram followers of his return, noting: "I'm back #BusinessTrip."
Brown missed the previous three games and Tramaine Brock started in his place. It's unclear who will start against the host Buccaneers. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said last week that Brown would play "some" once he's physically cleared to return.
Left guard Mike Iupati will miss his fourth straight game with a sprained left knee. Adam Snyder will start in his place again.
Tight end Vance McDonald (ankle) will sit out the first game of his rookie season. Garrett Celek returns after a four-game, hamstring-related absence, and the other backup tight end will be Derek Carrier.
Also inactive are wideouts Quinton Patton and Jon Baldwin, guard Ryan Seymour, linebacker Nick Moody and defensive tackle Quinton Dial.
Not suiting up for the Bucs are cornerback Deveron Carr, fullback Lonnie Pryor, safety Bradley McDougald, linebacker Danny Lansanah, guard Patrick Omameh, guard Carl Nicks and defensive tackle Gary Gibson.
