Cornerback Perrish Cox and the 49ers reached agreement on a one-year contract, according to several reports Tuesday.
Cox, 27, appeared in nine games as an extra defensive back for the 49ers last season. He also played in two games for the Seattle Seahawks in 2013.
He didn't start any games for either team last season. All nine of his starts came in 2010 for the Denver Broncos in his rookie season.
However, he has a chance to get more playing time with the 49ers this upcoming season, given starting cornerback Tarell Brown signed with the Raiders in free agency and fellow starting cornerback Carlos Rogers remains unsigned and isn't a sure thing to return.
