SANTA CLARA -- Daniel Kilgore, the 49ers' projected starting center for this coming season, was found not guilty of public intoxication related to a January arrest in his hometown of Kingsport, Tenn.

Kilgore's case was dismissed following his appearance in Kingsport General Sessions court Friday, according to a court clerk.

Kilgore, who signed a three-year contract extension in February, is pegged as Jonathan Goodwin's potential replacement as the starting center. Other candidates at center are Joe Looney, Adam Snyder, Ryan Seymour and a potential incoming draft pick.

The 49ers selected Kilgore in the fifth round of the 2011 draft out of Appalachian State. Three other members of that draft class recently have fallen under police investigation for separate cases: quarterback Colin Kaepernick, linebacker Aldon Smith and cornerback Chris Culliver.
