ALAMO -- Milwaukee Bucks forward Drew Gooden will host the first annual Celebrity Charity Golf Tournament from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at Round Hill Country Club.
The professional athletes and celebrities to be there will include New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis, Golden State Warriors center Jeremy Tyler, N Sync singer Chris Kirkpatrick and author Nicholas Sparks.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area Chapter, which grants wishes, such as a trip to Disneyland or meeting a celebrity, to children with life-threatening conditions.
The tournament is open to the public. Athletes and celebrities will be paired with guests for a round of golf. Prices are $500 to play in a foursome with a celebrity, or $1,200 to create a foursome without a celebrity. All ticket prices include a cocktail reception with the celebrities.
"Make-A-Wish is an amazing organization, and this golf tournament gives my friends and fellow athletes a way to get involved and bring some attention to a great cause," Gooden said in a news release.
