Wolves win Woodcreek tourney
Led by Kat Klass and Casey Pond, the San Ramon Valley High girls water polo team won the Woodcreek Tournament in Roseville on Sept. 29. San Ramon Valley beat Miramonte in the semifinals, then beat No. 1 seed Clovis 12-8 in the championship. Klass had six goals in the win, Pond had three goals and three assists and goalie Devon Gasparini anchored a stout defense with 11 saves.-- Staff
SRV runners shine at Stanford
The San Ramon Valley boys and girls cross country teams had an excellent showing at the Stanford Invitational on Sept. 29. Leading the girls team was Christine Bayliss, who held off Monte Vista freshman Brooke Starn to win the Division I race in 18:28 on the 3.1 mile course. And led by a sixth-place finish by Zach Hanze (16:11), San Ramon Valley won the Division I boys team title with a score of 104. -- Staff
Gaels firing on all cylinders
The Dublin High football team defeated Dougherty Valley 45-19 in a Diablo Foothill Athletic League game on Sept. 28 for its third straight win. The Gaels rushed for 369 yards as a team, as running back Ondre Rudolph had 188 yards and three touchdowns and Darrell Millinder had 127 yards and two touchdowns. Dublin took a 24-0 lead in the first half and never looked back.
