ALAMO -- Carols filled the air as Alamo residents ringed their tree and made merry at the annual Tree Lighting Festival on Sunday.

Sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, the event at Andrew H. Young Park featured caroling by students from local schools, lots of hot cocoa, arts and crafts for the children, collections of food for the needy and a visit by Santa Claus for everyone.

Santa listened to the requests of children, posed for pictures, and then returned to the North Pole to finish his preparations for Christmas.
