World Series trophy coming to Richmond
East Bay baseball fans will get a chance to bask in the limelight of the San Francisco Giants second world championship in three years when the team's World Series trophy tour comes to Richmond from 2 to 5 p.m. Jan. 14.
Both the 2010 and 2012 trophies will be on display in the lobby of the Richmond Auditorium, 403 Civic Center Plaza, for fans to pose for pictures.
The team is bringing the World Series prizes to Richmond and other cities with Junior Giants youth baseball leagues.
The trophies will be in Vallejo on Jan. 16 before setting off for a New York City appearance on Jan. 19. The only other East Bay appearance will be on Jan. 28 in Antioch, at a time and location still to be determined.

Weekend e-waste collection event set
A free electronic waste collection event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 12 and 13 at the El Cerrito Recycling and Environmental Resource Center, 7501 Schmidt Lane.
The drive-through event held with contractor Universal Waste Management Inc. will accept TVs and computer monitors, computers and accessories, stereos and music equipment, VCR & DVD players, toner cartridges, printers, fax machines, copiers, phone equipment, cell phones, MP3 players, microwaves and more for
Workers for UnWaste, a state-approved recycler, will unload items from your vehicle.
Putting e-waste in regular garbage is a violation of state law and recycling keeps toxic materials from reaching waterways.

Tickets available for Lions Club crab feed
The annual Albany Lions Club Crab Feed is set for 6:30 to 8 p.m. Jan. 25 in the Veterans Building in Memorial Park, 1325 Portland Ave.
The evening starts with a 5:30 p.m. social hour with appetizers and cocktails.
Dinner will include fresh crab, pasta, baked beans, salad, bread.
There will also be a silent auction and all proceeds will benefit the service club's community programs and projects.

Dance performance at El Cerrito High
A dance production about Gaucho life at El Cerrito High School will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 11 and 12, in the Performing Arts Center, 540 Ashbury Ave.
"Transitions: Gaucho Nation" is a production by the school dance program and the Gaucho Dance Company.
Tickets are $10 general and $5 students at the door.
Exchange Club crab feed benefits sports
The Albany-El Cerrito Exchange Club is again serving a crab feast to benefit El Cerrito youth programs, including the girls varsity and junior varsity soccer teams at El Cerrito High School.
The crab feed, which includes a raffle, no-host bar and prizes, will be at 6 p.m. Jan. 26 at the El Cerrito Community Center, 7007 Moeser Lane. No outside alcohol or take home food will be allowed.

Learn about Berkeley Rep production
A Berkeley Repertory Theatre docent will discuss the company's current production, "Troublemaker, or the Freakin Kick-A Adventures of Bradley Boatright," at 7 p.m. Jan. 14 at the Kensington Library, 61 Arlington Ave.

Great Train Expo coming to Richmond
Model railroads, train memorabilia, exhibits, demonstrations, workshops and more will be at The Great Train Expo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 12 and 13 at the Craneway Pavilion, 1010 Harbour Way South in Richmond.
The traveling family event is a must for train buffs and will have rail-related activities for children.
Admission is $7 adults and free for children under 12. Parking at the Craneway is free.
