ANTIOCH -- A 29-year-old man was shot Saturday evening when he refused to give up his belongings during an Antioch robbery, police said.

The Antioch resident was shot multiple times about 10:42 p.m. when he refused to comply with a robbery suspect in the 2300 block of Peppertree Way, Antioch police Sgt. Santiago Castillo said. He was taken to the hospital to be treated for his gunshot wounds, and is expected to survive.

A suspect has not been identified at this time, and the victim's name is not being released, Castillo said.
