OAKLAND — If you look at the massively built Prince Fielder, the Tigers' first baseman doesn't seem to be able to threaten you with his speed.
A's third baseman Josh Donaldson is here to tell you that is a misconception. Fielder, listed at 5-foot-11 and 275 pounds is more an athlete than his body might suggest.
``He's a big guy, there's no doubt about that,'' Donaldson said. ``But when he wants to, he can move, move a lot faster than you'd think just by looking at him.''
Donaldson brought that up as part of an overall conversation about the Tigers' speed. At third base Donaldson bases his position in part on how well players on the other side can run.
They have some guys who can really move,'' he said. ``(Austin) Jackson, (Jose) Inglesias, (Omar) Infante all can run. Torii (Hunter) still runs pretty well. And if you aren't ready for it, Prince is faster than you'd think.''
