SAN JOSE -- Officials are investigating a small brush fire that burned Saturday morning just south of Kelley Park.

No injuries were reported.

Firefighters responded to a 10:41 a.m. call from several passer-bys who noticed the blaze that broke out near a creek close to the intersection of Phelan Avenue and Roberts Street, said San Jose Fire Capt. Rob Brown.

It took firefighters about 50 minutes to extinguish the blaze, Brown said.

Brown said 22 firefighters responded to the one-alarm fire and that its cause remained under investigation.

Fire crews remained on scene as of noon, he said.
