OAKLAND -- Police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place early Saturday morning at an Oakland apartment complex.

Police said a man was shot and killed at about 2 a.m. at an apartment located in the 2800 block of Summit Street.

According to officers, a confrontation took place between two men at the apartment and one of the men opened fire on the other.

The apartment is in the area of Oakland known as Pill Hill.

Police were still interviewing people present at the time of the shooting and as of late Saturday morning no arrest had been made.

The motive for the shooting was not immediately released.
