An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a gang-related shooting in West San Jose earlier this week, police said.
Julio Cesar Vasquez, of San Jose, was arrested Wednesday night near Cadillac Drive and South Winchester Boulevard, the same site of the shooting he is suspected of committing, police said.
On Tuesday afternoon around 2:30 p.m., a 25-year-old San Jose man was found there suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim is expected to survive.
Police said an investigation led them to Vasquez, and that detectives believe the attack was gang-motivated. Whether the suspect or victim were known gang members was not disclosed.
Vasquez is being held without bail at County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder and possessing controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.
The shooting was the third to occur in broad daylight in two days, with two fatal shootings reported Monday. None of the cases appear to be connected.
