BROOKDALE -- "Ghost Adventures," a television series featuring a trio of men who investigate "the most notorious haunted places in the world," will feature the county's own Brookdale Inn in an episode airing 9 p.m. Friday on the Travel Channel.

In each show, Zak Bagans, Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin interview eyewitnesses and historians, arming themselves with stories of the places and the ghosts they will later aim to provoke and confront during their dusk-to-dawn lockdowns.

The team visited the county July 19 to film the episode. The crew first stopped by the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk to try out several rides and mingle with fans.

Bagans went to school with "Lost Boys" star Corey Haim, who died in 2010 at age 38. The ghost-hunting crew from the Travel Channel filmed some of the same Boardwalk scenes July 19 that are included in the "Lost Boys" movie, which also was shot at the amusement park, Boardwalk spokeswoman Brigid Fuller said in July.

After their Boardwalk detour, the cast headed up to the Brookdale Inn and Spa in search of the spirits said to be haunting the establishment. According to an episode synopsis from the Travel Channel website, Bagans will be introducing his dog, Gracie, in this episode, which the crew hopes will act as a trigger object to attract spirits.
