A strong Pacific storm is expected to hit the Bay Area by Wednesday, according a weather report released Saturday by the National Weather Service.

Rainfall is expected to arrive early that day, and the likelihood of rain is expected to remain high into Saturday.

In addition to rain on Wednesday, strong southerly winds are expected to accompany the low-pressure system. Winds may reach gale force, causing hazardous boating conditions.
