HAYWARD -- City officials will talk about the new one-way downtown traffic loop and give an update on the rest of the Route 238 Corridor road project at a meeting on March 28.
The loop began March 16. Foothill Boulevard is now one-way north from its intersection with Jackson Street-Mission Boulevard, A Street is one-way west from Foothill to Mission and Mission is one-way south from A Street to Jackson-Foothill.
The loop is part of the Route 238 Corridor Improvement Project, designed to ease traffic congestion downtown and help commuters and local residents move more quickly through town. Roadwork is scheduled to be finished in June.
City staff members will answer questions and respond to concerns at the meeting, which begins at 9 a.m. in Room 1C at City Hall, 777 B St.
