Milpitas police are looking for help finding a man and woman who were involved in tense altercation at a bus stop on Tuesday night. The altercation, during which a woman yells "police" then struggles with a man who appears to try to get her to step onto the waiting bus, was captured by a surveillance video camera.

Police received a 911 call from an AC Transit bus driver reporting a male and female involved in an altercation near a bus stop bench on the 450 block of East Calaveras Boulevard on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The bus driver stated the man grabbed the woman after the altercation and dragged her toward the bushes of a nearby business complex, which is south of Milpitas City Hall.

Police say the man may have been holding a cell phone in his hand, which he displayed to the bus driver, as seen in the surveillance video.

Officers arrived and searched the surrounding areas but were unable to find the involved parties.

A California Highway Patrol helicopter responded to the scene to assist in the search but it was also unable to locate anyone.

An Alameda County Sheriff's Office deputy responded to the scene and accessed the security camera footage from the bus.

As of Wednesday morning, the identity and relationship of the man and woman is unknown, according to Milpitas police. They released a video of the altercation Wednesday. Anyone with information is asked to call Milpitas police at (408) 586-2400.
