The Vukani Mawethu Choir, which performed during Nelson Mandela's 1990 visit to Oakland, performed at Oakland City Hall during a celebration of the former South African president's life in Oakland on Wednesday.

The event also included an address from South African Consul General Cyril S. Ndaba, Mayor Jean Quan and others, as well as performances by the City and Port of Oakland Employees' Chorus and the Oakland School for the Arts.
