Three men were arrested on burglary allegations after police found them with a stolen car in San Rafael.
The incident occurred at about 5:45 a.m. Saturday, when police noticed a car parked outside the Burger King at 969 Francisco Boulevard East. Police conducted a routine check of the license plate and learned the car, a 1992 Honda Accord, had been reported stolen the previous day from a residence on Woodland Avenue, said police spokeswoman Margo Rohrbacher.
Police contacted the occupants and searched the car, finding property they suspect was stolen from residential burglaries, Rohrbacher said.
Two of the occupants -- Francisco Moreno, a 22-year-old Richmond resident, and Edgar Aguilar, a 24-year-old San Rafael resident -- were booked on suspicion of vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, burglary and violating their probation terms.
A third suspect, 24-year-old Victor Sanchez of Novato, was booked on suspicion of burglary and possessing stolen property.
The three suspects remained in custody Monday at Marin County Jail while the district attorney's office decided whether to file charges.
