MENLO PARK -- Police are on the lookout for a man who robbed a pregnant woman Wednesday night in the driveway of her home.
Around 9:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery on the 1200 block of Sevier Avenue, according to Menlo Park Sgt. Tim Brackett.
Brackett said the suspect approached the woman, who was sitting in the passenger seat of her car in the driveway of her home, having just returned from a night out. He demanded the woman's money but did not open the car door, instead using an unknown object to break the passenger side window.
The woman, who is eight months pregnant, was cut by the object and from the shattered glass, Brackett said, but she was not seriously injured. She was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
The suspect fled the scene on foot with $200 in cash and was not found despite an extensive search of the area.
Brackett said the suspect was described as a black man in his mid 30s, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall with a slender to medium build. He was last seen wearing a black, long-sleeve, hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his forehead.
