A recently detected payroll snafu made in 2005, and another in 2007, resulted in the overpayment of some 100 Oakland school district employees for a total of $120,000. While many of the errors involved stipends and were relatively small, one employee received an extra $20,000 from September 2005 through March of this year. At a meeting this morning (before I was kicked out), the local SEIU president told a group of employees that the union was working out a deal with the school district.
