ANTIOCH -- Gunfire erupted near a middle school Wednesday afternoon, but police said no students were involved in the shooting and no injuries were reported.

Shots were fired about 3:30 p.m. in the 200 block of W. 18th Street, about three blocks from Antioch Middle School. Sgt. Mitch Schwitters said in a news release. Witnesses told police three to six shots were fired, and officers recovered three shell casings from the area.

The suspects all were wearing baggy white T-shirts, Schwitters said, and ran off after the incident. Police said a passing vehicle may have been grazed by the gunfire but that no shooting victims had been located.
