Find your pot of gold on St. Patrick's Day at the Las Lomas High School Rummage Sale. The annual event will take place 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 17 in the Las Lomas Gym, 1460 S. Main St. in Walnut Creek.
Organizers say there are so many good treasures, they urge people to get there early. The sale will have everything from furniture, sporting goods, electronics, appliances, household items and toys to clothing and tools. There is a $2 entrance fee and $5 early-bird fee for those who really want to jump ahead and start shopping at 7 a.m. All proceeds benefit the class of 2014.
Open up those wallets to help the Northgate Parent Faculty Club's annual fundraiser March 30. Titled "Spring for education ... Road to academic success," the event will feature a dinner, auction and dance at the Clubhouse at Boundary Oak Golf Course in Walnut Creek. The fun starts at 5:30 p.m. and costs $55 per person.
Money raised at the auction is invested back into the school. Past funding has provided additional hours for the college and career center, technology support and additional class sections.

Walnut Acres Principal Colleen Dowd wants parents to know that kindergarten registration is open for those who reside in the school's attendance area. Eagle Peak Montessori School will hold prospective parent meetings from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. March 10; 7 to 8 p.m. March 13 at 800 Hutchinson Road, Walnut Creek.
Eagle Montessori is charter school in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District, and requires no tuition.

A 5-K Fun Run will be held at 7:30 a.m. March 11 at Las Lomas High School as a fundraiser for the class of 2013.
