PLEASANTON -- A high school math teacher accused of having sex with a boy under the age of 15 had her pretrial hearing postponed for the second time in less than a month while the court awaits the victim's medical records.
Marie Johnson, 41, who taught at Granada High School in Livermore, is due back in court at 9 a.m. July 10 in Jacob Blea III's courtroom.
Blea is scheduled to also hear arguments about the victim's school records and whether they will be allowed into the court record.
Johnson was arrested Jan. 11 and charged with 24 sex offenses. According to police, Johnson's sexual relationship with the boy lasted from December 2010 to May 2011.
The relationship began through the popular smartphone app "Words with Friends" as well as text messages and Facebook, according to police. Johnson pleaded not guilty to the charges Feb. 23.
At the pretrial hearing, a judge will hear the evidence against Johnson and decide whether it is sufficient to put her on trial.
Johnson is being held at Santa Rita Jail in lieu of $950,000 bail.
