FOSTER CITY -- Visa will move its corporate headquarters to Foster City at the beginning of October, exiting its long-time home base of San Francisco, the electronic payments firm said Thursday.
"It's a way to make for a more efficient operation," said Erica Harvill, a Visa spokeswoman.
About 100 employees will shift to the new headquarters in Foster City, where Visa already has a large two-building campus with 3,000 workers. The headquarters will officially be in its new location on Oct. 1.
Employees often shuttle between the Foster City and San Francisco offices at present.
"We have been renovating the Foster City campus," Harvill said. "This just marks the completion of that renovation."
