OAKLAND -- All lanes of northbound Interstate 880 have been reopened after a car crashed into a group of water barrels used as a barrier to protect drivers, officials said.
The crash was reported about 4:42 p.m. near Fruitvale Avenue. An ambulance was called to the scene, but the extent of any injuries is unknown, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatcher.
As many as three lanes were blocked after the accident, which prompted officials to declare a SigAlert about 5 p.m. All lanes were reopened around 6:20 p.m.
