ALAMEDA -- The man who died Thursday morning after he apparently lost control of his motorcycle near the Posey Tube was Michael Gordon, of Alameda, according to the Alameda County coroner's bureau.
Gordon, 50, was traveling northbound on Constitution Way near Marina Village Parkway just before 7 a.m. when he was thrown from the motorcycle, police said. No other vehicle was involved and no one else was hurt, said Ted Horlbeck, of the Alameda Police Department.
The area of Atlantic Avenue, Marina Village Parkway and Constitution Way remained closed after the accident until about 2 p.m. as police investigated what happened.
Horlbeck said police plan to have toxicology tests carried out to determine whether alcohol or narcotics played a role in the accident.
