CONCORD -- Officers arrested a 28-year-old wanted felon Saturday after he flipped his car on San Miguel Road and tried to walk away, a police spokesman said.
An officer saw a Nissan Maxima zip through a red light at the intersection of San Miguel and Cowell roads at 12:25 p.m., said Lt. Tim Runyon. The officer was initially blocked by traffic, but a minute or two later he caught up to the Maxima where it had crashed on the 1000 block of San Miguel.
The driver had suffered minor injuries and was still nearby, Runyon said. The officer caught him and discovered he was wanted on several felony warrants.
Runyon said the man, whose name has not been released, was treated at a hospital and booked into county jail in Martinez on the outstanding warrants and suspicion of reckless driving.
