OAKLAND -- A second shooting in as many days on the same East Oakland street left a bystander wounded Friday morning, police said.

The shooting happened about 9:40 a.m. in the 2600 block of Talbot Avenue, near Fisher Avenue.

It wasn't clear if the shooter was someone on the street or in a car, but none of the intended targets were wounded, according to police.

However, a man sitting in a van about a half-block away on Foothill Boulevard was hit in the arm by a stray bullet. Police detained two people at the scene but it wasn't immediately known if they were the intended targets or suspects.

Two men were shot early Thursday on the same block and a 16-year-old girl was killed there by gunfire in August, authorities said. The 2600 block of Talbot Avenue runs between MacArthur Boulevard and Interstate 580 near the Foothill Square Shopping Center.

In Thursday's shooting, the two wounded men, a 28-year-old Bay Point resident and a 33-year-old man who did not give an address, said they were shot by someone in a car while walking on the street. Their names were not released by police.

They said they called another person who gave them a ride to a hospital where the younger man was treated for gunshots to his legs and the other man for wounds to his side. But police said the car they believe the men were brought to the hospital in, that was found parked on a street near the hospital, had bullet holes in it, leading them to believe the men were actually in the vehicle when they were shot.

Talbot Avenue was also the scene of a fatal shooting on Aug. 8, when Taiteanna Turner, 16, the mother of an 8-month-old baby girl, was killed outside a store in the 2700 block of Talbot Avenue at MacArthur Boulevard. A 23-year-old man with the girl was also wounded. No arrests have been made in the case.

There was another shooting Friday morning in Oakland's Fruitvale District, in the 3500 block of Galindo Street. Nobody was hit by gunfire, but a resident inside a home on Harrington Avenue was injured by debris when gunfire struck the house, according to police.

Some vehicles were also hit by gunfire in the shooting.
