OAKLAND -- Three people were in stable condition Monday after being shot Sunday night in East Oakland, police said.

The victims told police they were together when they were shot about 10:45 p.m. on Sunday near the intersection of 98th and Edes avenues, said Officer Kevin McDonald.

Police said three suspects shot at the victims, then fled the area. The victims then drove themselves to a hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds, McDonald said.

No motive was known on Monday and no suspect description was immediately available.
