OAKLAND -- Oakland police are asking for the public's help in finding three men they say robbed the same North Oakland bank branch two different times in December.
That Bank of the West branch at 4900 Telegraph Ave. was robbed four times between Dec. 6 and 29, but investigators do not believe the crimes are linked.
On Dec. 6 at 12:25 p.m., a suspect told the teller than he had a gun, but a weapon was never seen. He escaped after a dye pack exploded as he fled the bank.
The suspect is described as a black man 20-27 years old, 6 feet, 160 pounds with a medium build. He had short black hair, brown eyes, a moustache and a light to medium complexion. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with white strings, a light colored T-shirt, light gray sweatpants and black and white shoes with white trim.
At 9:05 a.m. Dec. 21, a pair of robbers, one armed with a gun, forced customers and employees to lie on the floor before fleeing with cash from tellers' drawers.
One suspect is described as a black man in his mid 30s, 6 feet, 250 pounds with short black hair and a beard. He was wearing a white baseball hat, a phone earpiece in his left ear, a white long sleeve button down shirt, a gray tie, black pants and all-white tennis shoes.
The second suspect is described as a black man between 25 and 30, 6 feet, 200 pounds, with short black hair. He was wearing a tan or gray baseball hat, sunglasses with a light blue long sleeve button
Last week, police released photos of a man and woman wanted in connection with a robbery at that same Bank of the West on Dec. 10. The suspects remain at large.
The bank was robbed for a final time Dec. 29, police said. Pictures of the suspects in that robbery have not been released.
