LIVERMORE -- The man suspected of fatally shooting a 28-year-old Livermore resident last month has been arrested in Oregon and is awaiting extradition to California, police said.

Jacob Kober, 24, of Livermore, has been identified as the suspect in the shooting death of Kenneth Robert Ogden on Dec. 29, 2012.

Police said Kober, who took off to Oregon after the shooting, was arrested in Springfield and is in the custody of the Lane County Sheriff's Department. Authoritities did not say when Kober was arrested, or how they were tipped off that he was a fugitive.

About 7:21 a.m. Dec. 29, a man who lived on Galaxy Court in Livermore saw a man lying in the grass alongside his house, which borders the Springtown Golf Course fairway and neighboring bicycle paths.

A female jogger near the man yelled for help, police said.

The man was not breathing and did not have a pulse when Livermore police arrived. The Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department confirmed the man, later identified as Ogden, was dead. He had suffered from multiple gunshot wounds. Police said that Kober and Ogden knew each other. Detectives would not release further details on the case.
