Oakland -- Three 18-year-old men and a 17-year-old boy were arrested Thursday morning on suspicion of robbing some construction workers and then trying to break into a woman's apartment about a half-mile away, police said.
The adults are from Oakland, Vallejo and Tracy. It was not known where the juvenile lived.
They were arrested about 11:30 a.m. Thursday after a brief search on upper Seminary Avenue, not far from Mills College. Two of them were arrested near the Seminary Avenue offramp from Interstate 580; two others were found near Sunnymere Avenue.
The group robbed the construction workers in the 6700 block of Outlook Avenue around 10:50 a.m., police said. About 20 minutes later, the woman called police to say someone was trying to break into her apartment on the 6200 block of Seminary Avenue.
Police rushed to the area and shut down several streets while they searched for the suspects. Officers recovered at least one gun during the search.
Investigators are trying to determine if the four are responsible for other robberies.
