SANTA CLARA -- Colin Kaepernick can evade defenders as the 49ers quarterback but he continues to encounter questions about his plentiful tattoos.

He confirmed that agent has applied for a trademark on the term "Kaepernicking," which describes his touchdown celebration of kissing the "Faith" tattoo on his right biceps.

"It's my way of saying I don't care what people think of my tattoos," Kaepernick said Thursday amid preparations for Super Bowl XLVII on Feb. 3 in New Orleans.

The second-year signal caller wouldn't predict if he'll do a lot of Kaepernicking against the Baltimore Ravens as the 49ers vie for their sixth Super Bowl championship, adding: "I don't know. I hope so."

One thing he did Thursday afternoon: He sent 15 pizzas to the 49ers' media trailer as a goodwill gesture. Just like the 49ers' playbook with him as their quarterback, there were a lot of options on the pizza toppings.
