Pieces of San Francisco 49ers memorabilia are hot commodities as the Super Bowl nears, but one Vallejo shop is offering something a little more permanent than jerseys and bobble heads.

Tattoos.

"We're super excited, so we decided, 'Why not?' " said Andrew Moskito, manager of Allied Ink Tattoos & Piercings at 1417 Georgia St.

The tattoo shop is discounting full-color Niners-themed designs to just $49 in honor of the team's ascendance to the Super Bowl. The tattoos are limited to about palm-sized.

"Normally, they'd be about $120," Moskito said, noting that the shop's minimum fee is usually $50.

The event runs next week on the two days before the Super Bowl, but Samantha Stout of Napa misread the information and

showed up Friday. Still, Stout decided to get a 49ers logo on the back of her neck at full price.

"I've been a 49ers fan since I was 5. ... It's something I was planning anyway," Stout said, about an hour before tattoo artist Daniel Thomas Chambers began putting red and gold ink on her skin.

The $49 deal follows a tradition at Allied Ink that includes various theme days such as a $13 tattoo on Friday the 13th, or a Christmas food and toy drive in which clients are given heavy discounts when they bring in donations.

Most of the events are heavily attended, and Moskito expects the 49ers deal to be no exception. Moskito believes 100 people will show up each day, sure to keep the shop's five artists busy.
