CAPITOLA - An SUV that overturned on Highway 1 on Sunday afternoon was caused by the driver becoming distracted by her cellphone and then making an unsafe turning movement, the California Highway Patrol said.

A 1-year-old baby in the vehicle escaped injury in the 3:40 p.m. crash near Park Avenue, and the 29-year-old woman driving the SUV suffered minor injuries, officer Sarah Jackson said.

Emergency dispatchers reported that the SUV landed on its roof.
