REDWOOD CITY -- A woman suspected of stealing from the family she worked for was arrested Saturday on 95 counts of theft and forgery, the Santa Mateo County Sheriff's Office said.

Sandy Delgado, 28, of Redwood City, had been under investigation since mid-January, when police learned she was suspected of stealing from her employer, said sheriff's deputy Rebecca Rosenblatt.

Delgado had worked for the family "for years," both as a housekeeper and a nanny, and the thefts appear to go back at least four years, the Sheriff's Office said. The family lives in the unincorporated community of Fair Oaks.

Delgado was being held in lieu of $950,000 bail at San Mateo County Jail.
