CONCORD -- An 88-year-old woman died Saturday when a Dodge Ram collided with her Honda Accord at a busy intersection, police said.
Concord resident Sarah Simmons, 88, was turning left onto Treat Boulevard from San Miguel Road in her Honda at 1:53 p.m., when her vehicle was hit by the pickup traveling westbound on Treat, police said.
Rescuers took Simmons in an ambulance to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where she was pronounced dead.
Drugs and alcohol do no appear to be a factor in the collision, police said. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
