Virgin America announced Tuesday that it's adding daily flights from San Francisco International Airport to Texas' high-tech capital, Austin, and seasonal service to Anchorage, Alaska.

Daily nonstops to Austin-Bergstrom International will start May 21. The outbound flight will leave SFO at 10:15 a.m. and arrive in Austin at 3:35 p.m. On the return, travelers will leave "Silicon Hills" at 5 p.m. and land in the Bay Area at 7 p.m., the Burlingame-based carrier said.

Seasonal flights to Alaska will operate six days a week from June 6 through Sept. 9, with an 8 p.m. departure (every day except Tuesdays) and an 11:55 p.m. arrival at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. The return flight will leave Anchorage at 12:50 a.m. (except Wednesdays) and arrive at SFO at 6:25 a.m.

Introductory fares for Virgin's newest destinations start at $178 roundtrip for the Austin flights and $398 roundtrip for the Anchorage ones. Sale seats are limited, and tickets must be purchased before 10 p.m. Wednesday Pacific Standard Time. Details: www.virginamerica.com.
