BRENTWOOD -- Thieves who took guns and jewelry remain at-large after several homes, some of which belong to law enforcement personnel, were burglarized over the past few weeks, police said Tuesday.
No one was home during any of the burglaries, and no suspects have been named. The suspects appear to be targeting firearms, electronics and jewelry.
Sgt. Walter O'Grodnick told ABC-7 news that 25 burglaries have been reported since the beginning of the year, with three of those homes belonging to police officers.
A safe was taken in one of the burglaries, he said. "There was a safe that was taken. There were a number of firearms again, that were stolen in that incident, unfortunately," O'Grodnick told ABC. Police found the safe, but it was empty.
There is no specific times police believe the burglaries occur, but police said they are working to identify any suspects and investigators are following up on several leads and working with other law enforcement agencies.
Anyone with information related to these burglaries is asked to contact Detective Folena of the Brentwood Police Department at 925-809-7743. Callers can remain anonymous.
