Wind River Red Dragons 41, Blue Thunder 31: On Jan. 27, the Dragons consistent team play led to many scoring opportunities, which resulted in a 41-31 win. For the Dragons, Kurt Landers Jr. led all scorers and drove the lane repeatedly, and Spencer Kao and Jaylin Holt hit shots from long range. Big men Joe Gibbons and John Atases snatched up rebounds and played strong defense in the low post. For the Thunder, Javier Rodriguez put the Thunder ahead with an early scoring run but late in the game Kobe Kiener's pair of three-point shots put the game out of reach.
Black Knights 44, Wind River Red Dragons 22: On Feb. 3, the Dragons' momentum caught up with them and they were handed their second loss of the season (5-2). Missed shots and turnovers gave the Knights multiple scoring chances, which they capitalized on. Jackson Ball had the hot hand and led all scorers. For the Dragons, Joe Gibbons played solid defense and Liam Rooney hit two three-point shots late in the game, but it wasn't enough to overcome the large deficit.
McGees Red Blazers 31, Orange Bandits 18: On Jan. 26, the Blazers trounced the Bandits 31-18. Solid team defense for the Blazers stymied the Bandits' offense and resulted in multiple fast breaks. For the Blazers, Dylan Manabat had 10 points. Charles Tharp dominated the offensive glass and scored on
McGees Red Blazers 35, Blue Steelers 26: On Feb. 2, the Blazers came out of the gates on fire and never looked back. Jason Cenidoza Jr. led the Blazers on both ends of the court, stealing the ball on defense and feeding Charles Tharp in the low post. Cenidoza hit shots from long and short range and finished with 10 points. Tharp led all scorers, followed by Sam Davis and Dylan Manabat. Alan He played tenacious defense, and Jack Johnson hit a clutch shot from outside. For the Steelers, Ryan Harris and Adam Hoepker kept the score close, but the Blazers rebounding and fast break offense carried the day. The Blazers improved to 5-2 on the season.
