SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO -- Police were looking for a driver who left the scene after hitting a 17-year-old girl Saturday night as she walked across the street.
The woman behind the wheel of the silver car struck the girl around 6:20 p.m. at the intersection of C Street and West Orange Avenue, talked to her briefly and then drove off, said South San Francisco police. The driver allegedly didn't give the girl her name or phone number before going.
The collision left the girl, who was hit in a crosswalk, with an injured ankle. Paramedics treated her and then let her go with a guardian.
Police said the driver was last seen eastbound in a four-door vehicle on West Orange Avenue. She appeared to be in her 50s or 60s and had white or blond hair, police said.
