SAN JOSE -- Records provided by San Jose in response to a request for City Council and manager procurement card charges in recent years showed the following totals. We looked at two 12-month periods, from Oct. 1, 2010, through Sept. 30, 2011, and Oct. 1, 2011, through Sept. 30, 2012, a total of 24 months.
City officials said all charges were within city policy except for a handful of cases in which the city clerk sought reimbursement from council members.
Differences in amounts charged to individual council members often reflect the degree to which that official delegates purchasing to staff members.
