HILLSBOROUGH -- Police hope new leads in a nearly 9-year-old slaying of Priscilla Ng during a home invasion robbery will at last lead them to the killer or killers.

Hillsborough police Capt. Doug Davis said investigators have identified several people of interest, including one who had until recently been unavailable due to a criminal case in Singapore. He said the leads detectives have been working are among the strongest to date in the June 19, 2004 killing.

Ng suffocated while tied up in her home and a male companion was severely beaten, but survived.

Davis said the leads first came to police in November 2007 in the form of emails from a person who claimed to have information about her killing. That information turned out to be reliable and investigators have since gone abroad to follow up on the leads, Davis said.
