MORGAN HILL -- In an effort to curb deaths and injuries related to older drivers and pedestrians, the California Highway Patrol is offering a "Age Well Drive Smart" course next month.
The three hour course will start at 9 a.m. March 21 at the Centennial Recreation Senior Center, 171 W. Edmundson Ave., in Morgan Hill.
CHP officers will discuss topics oriented toward older residents, including driving skills, rules of the road, age-related physical changes, safety devices, flexibility, affects of medication on driving and mobility options.
The CHP has been emphasizing older driver safety and mobility issues for the past six years.
Funding for the program comes from a grant through the state's Office of Traffic Safety. To register, contact the senior center at 408-782-1284.
