SAN LORENZO -- An update on expansion plans for the San Lorenzo Library will be presented Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the library.

Architectural drawings for the $9.4 million expansion will be displayed and the project's architect and county staff will be available to answer questions. Plans include building a new windowed one-story wing to the west of the library on the grass area.

The project -- which will double the size of the library -- is one of several planned for San Lorenzo funded with $33 million in old county redevelopment money. Also included is a $4 million community plaza to be built adjacent to the new library expansion, providing a direct path to the library from Hesperian Boulevard.

The library is located at 395 Paseo Grande, next to the San Lorenzo Village Homeowner's Association. Spanish and Chinese translators will be available at the meeting.

Construction on the library is scheduled to begin early next year and wrap up in 2015.
