SANTA CRUZ -- The Santa Cruz County coroner is working to identify a woman found floating in the ocean near the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf.

The woman was pulled from the ocean just before midnight Wednesday, according to Sheriff's Sgt. Roy Morales.

The Sheriff's Office was aided by a boat and crew from the Santa Cruz Small Craft Harbor Patrol.

No foul play is suspected, Morales said.

A couple walking on the wharf spotted the body when they stopped to peak over the railing near Bonnie's Gift Shop.

They called 911.

Morales said the woman was fully clothed, and he estimated she had been in the ocean fewer than 24 hours.
