OAKLAND -- A man found dead Feb. 24 in the Oakland Estuary was identified by police Monday as Bobby E. Wilson, a 33-year-old transient.

Wilson's cause of death has hasn't been determined yet by the Alameda County Coroner's Officer pending toxicology results, which could still take a few weeks. There was minimal trauma to his body and police said he could have been in the water for hours if not longer.

He was found floating in the waters of the estuary, partially pinned under a dock, off Jack London Square about 2:15 p.m. Feb. 24.

Police said Wilson had addresses in Oakland, Berkeley, Richmond and Sacramento and at one point worked at a Sacramento auto lubrication business. He has relatives living in another state, authorities said.

Officer Robert Trevino said police still don't know how or where Wilson entered the water and investigators have not found any missing person reports filed about him.

Anyone with information about Wilson is asked to call police at 510238-3821.
